 By now most people are aware of the situation surrounding Mr Shawn Carter aka Jay-Z. Yesterday [1-31-00], he appeared in a Manhattan court and was court and was indicted on two felony charges including first degree attempted assault and second degree assault. This stems from an incident that took place at the New York's Kit Kat Klub last December which resulted in the stabbing of record executive Lance Un Rivera. Jay-Z had beef with Rivera because he believed this once longtime friend of The Notorious BIG was bootlegging his soon to be released album. This no doubt was of great disappointment to Jigga who had publicly noted that he has a video tape clearly showing that he was nowhere near Rivera when all the drama went down. The district attorney has countered by saying he has more then 30 witnesses on hand who have fingered Jay-Z as the man attacked Rivera. Jay-Z returns to court on February 22. If convicted he can get up to 15 years in jail. |
